Lecturer Michael Joyce

Michael Joyce holds degrees from Yale University and the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany as well as diplomas from BPP Law School in London, Trinity College London and CIT Cork School of Music.

Michael has performed as a collaborative pianist in recitals throughout Ireland and internationally at venues including the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Mendelssohn Haus in Leipzig, Maggio Musicale in Florence, Casa da Musica in Porto and the Wigmore Hall in London. He has made numerous recordings for Irish national radio (RTÉ) and has performed with well-known musicians including the award-winning Crash Ensemble, sopranos Cara O’Sullivan, Pauline Tinsley and Mary Hegarty, tenors Robert Craig and Nicky Spence, violinists Elizabeth Cooney, Catherine Leonard, Keith Pascoe and Máiread Hickey and violist Nobuko Imai.

Michael worked as a legal assistant for major New York law firms Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Fried, Frank LLP and trained as a solicitor for UK firm IBB solicitors. He is currently based in Cork where he lectures in music and law at CIT Cork School of Music.
